The natural environment has evolved over millennia to adapt and thrive with change. Could biodiversity inspire innovation and help us to build a sustainable and prosperous future?

As part of the R&D Management Conference 2025 there is to be an Industry Panel to look at how biodiversity can inspire innovation – it is created as a free hybrid event so those not attending the conference in person can attend online.

The session will be fireside chat with three eminent innovation experts discussing the challenges they are addressing, the decision making behind the scenes and the opportunities that are being created.

Jacopo Orlando, Agricultural Public Affairs, Impact & Sustainability Manager at Aboca Group

OneHealth as there is only one planet Earth

Many of today’s pharmaceuticals are based on inorganic chemistry; working more closely with nature would potentially allow more interventions more closely aligned with the body’s own metabolism and disease responses and be better for the planet. Jacopo Orlando, a sustainability manager at Aboca, explains that the company takes a systems medicine approach that is based on evidence from clinical trials.

Aboca has established a fully vertically integrated supply chain, from the production of quality raw materials and organic farming, right up to testing the pharmacological and clinical effects of its products – products which are 100% natural.
