Keynotes at R&D Management Conference

Now is the time to change – inspirational speakers provide their insights in the three plenary sessions at the R&D Management Conference.

Also an opportunity to meet Xiaolan Fu (傅晓岚) Founding Director of the Technology and Management Centre for Development (TMCD) about the ‘under the radar’ innovations that widely exist in Africa and the potential for an exciting new wave of growth. See the Wiley Book Club. 

Plenary 1 – Doing things differently and doing different things and crisis driven innovation – 08:15, Wednesday 7th July 

Tim Minshall, Professor of Innovation at the University of Cambridge and Head of the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM).

John Bessant, Emeritus Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Exeter,  advisor to governments and international bodies including the United Nations, The World Bank and the OECD. with clients that have included Toyota, Novo-Nordisk, Hella, Lego, Morgan Stanley, Coloplast, Corus, Danfoss, GSK, Grundfos, Hewlett-Packard and Kumba Resources.

Plenary 2 – Disrupting Disruption – 08:45, Thursday 8th July 

Riccardo Fini, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at the University of Bologna and a Fellow at Imperial College London.

Erkko Autio, Chair in Technology Venturing at Imperial College Business School. He co-founded the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and the Global Entrepreneurship Index. His research focuses on digitalisation and entrepreneurial ecosystems, innovation ecosystems and business model innovation.

Plenary 3 – Adopting R&D to cope with Relentless Change – 17:00, Thursday 8th July

Steve Rader, Deputy Director of NASA’s Center of Excellence for Collaborative Innovation (CoECI), which is working to infuse challenge and crowdsourcing innovation approaches at NASA and across the federal government.

Ellen Enkel, Editor-in-Chief of the R&D Management Journal, and Professor of Business Administration and Mobility at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
